"Don't forget,"  Hemlock said after the monk had finished laying out his theory,  "We have two victims that were not marked by this star symbol.  With the exception of her affair with Harker, Katrine was a good and virtous person - she may have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.  By all accounts though, Sevilla was pretty rotten.  He liked to hurt people and enjoyed the brothels and the bottle.  If this ghoul is targetting sinners, Sevilla seems like a pretty good choice, yet he was left alive."  Hemlock leans back in his chair, musing.  "If this ghoul is targetting sinners in general, I daresay every one in town is a potential victim."

After talking with Hemlock, Li Kao seeks out the only other man in town that he knows of that may know how to combat the undead - Father Zanthus.

The Desnan priest is obviously troubled by Li Kao's revelation, but admits he suspected as much after hearing of Sevilla's transformation.  "I am afraid that my arcane skills are not up to the task of combatting an outbreak of ghoul fever," he responds when asked.  "I can call on Desna to heal perhaps one case in a day, byt beyond that, my accolytes and I can only tend to the sick and give a fevered man a better chance of fighting off the disease"

After his meeting with the priest Li Kao sets off to the Rusty Dragon to arrange his evening's performance.
