As Li Kao set up his spot in the back room of the Rusty Dragon, he runs over the two messages that this ghoul has left for Xer’s friend Sasha.
The first, recovered by Sheriff Hemlock from the lumber mill murders, was a note that read: “You will learn to love me, desire me in time as she did. Give yourself to the Pack and it will all end.”
The second was delivered by Sevilla right before his transformation, and must have been taught to him by the Skinsaw man before the lumber mill note was written. According to the witnesses, Sevilla had talked about being “unmade” by someone called “His Lordship.” He was jealous of the attention His Lordship was paying to Sasha, who had made him memorize a message: “He said if you came to his Misgivings, that if you joined the pack, he would stop his harvest in your honour!"
Another reference to the Pack, which Li Kao assumed this meant the Skinsaw Man’s growing pack of fellow ghouls.
Li Kao’s train of thought is interrupted as his first customer walks in: A fat, heavily tattooed man. Flat sloping brow, piggish eyes, and tusk-like lower canines speak loudly to his orcish heritage. “You the new healer?”
“Um, yes, among other things. I am Li Kao, have a seat. And you are? ”
“Name’s Govri.” The half-orc throws his weight into the offered chair, which groans in protest. He eases a swollen foot out of a filthy leather boot and, with some effort, props it up on the small table a short span from Li Kao’s nose. “I got a rash…”
“Ah yes, yes you do.”
“And it itches.”
“I see. Are you sure you wouldn’t rather have your fortune read?”

Li Kao slathered a brakish goo onto the half-orc's foot and wrapped it in swathing as he mulled over the 2 messages from the ghoul...
The ghoul wanted Sasha to join him. For whatever reason that was his goal. No point being cryptic if he really wanted Sasha to be able to find him with his messages. There must be enough information in those 2 messages for Sasha to find him...
In the written message the word "Pack" was capitalized. Could it be the Pack was an actual place rather than a concept? In the oral message he asked Sasha to come to his misgivings...is that a concept? or a place?
Li Kao tied off the bandaging and said a quick prayer over the infected foot.
"Govri you frowsty fellow you look like a man of confutitive intelligence but perhaps you can help me out none the less..."
Govri's brow furrowed as he tried to follow Li Kao's speech.
"I'm interested in cataloguing all of Sandpoint's charming and rustic areas. But unfortunately the townspeople will only tell me of the beautiful places out of pride. Surely there's a couple of dreary or spooky places in the nearby environs that people shy away from. Maybe near that swamp across from the Mill?"
Li Kao decides to take a gamble,
"I heard a couple people mutter something about...what was it...the Pack?...His Misgivings?"
OoC: Li Kao will continue seeing villagers and asking them similar questions until he either gets a satisfying answer or nightfalls. Whether he discovers clues to an actual place or not he will have to wait for his comrades to return and so will continue with his plans on safeguarding the town during the night.
